Just Eat Real Food

Just eat REAL food.  There is no substitute for nature.

"Ultra-processed" foods make up more than half of all the calories in the U.S. diet. These foods often include long ingredient lists and additives such as artificial flavors, added sugars, stabilizers, preservatives, and more. They may also boast flashy packaging and bold health claims on labels. The purpose of these ultra-processed foods is convenience. Many are ready-to-eat, require very little prep to be palatable, and are low in cost.

But the real cost can ultimately be very high, due to increased risk for cancer. And now, most recently, a study from JAMA Internal Medicine associated a high consumption of ultra-processed food with an earlier death. Almost 40% of Americans Eat Fast Food on Any Given Day and it is killing us.

An example is a Harvard study that found that the consumption of instant ramen causes extensive health problems to those who frequently partake of that convenience food. The study proved instant noodles and ramen can cause irreversible damage to your body.

The study showed that women were especially at high risk of metabolic syndrome due to the large amounts of ramen they  consume. Metabolic syndrome often lead to increased blood sugar and blood pressure levels, causing a higher risk of diabetes, stroke or heart disease.

The culprit identified was the substance found in ramen called Tertiary-butyl hydroquinone (TBHQ), a petroleum industry byproduct used to preserve cereals and other cheap processed foods. Independent of major dietary patterns, instant noodle consumption was associated with increased prevalence of metabolic syndrome.

Ugly Truths About Breakfast Cereals
During the production of breakfast cereals grains are placed into a machine called an extruder after being mixed with water into a sludge. This grain sludge is forced out of tiny holes at high temperatures and pressure, shaping them into those cute little o’s, stars, flakes, and puffs. Then they are sprayed with a coating of oil and sugar and artificial additives or preservatives
to keep them crispy and crunchy.  Much of the nutrients are destroyed in this process, and any essential fatty acids are denatured, making them useless to our bodies.

Synthetic vitamins that are added back to the sludge is altered by this extrusion process. Synthetic (man-made) vitamins and minerals are not readily absorbed by the body. Your body simply is not designed to utilize them. Many synthetic vitamins are actually treated as toxins and are eliminated by your body as quickly as possible.

The Kellogg’s cereal production line processed cereal  at a rate of four tons of cereal per hour. Cereal with pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, GMOs, high levels of sugar, and other harmful ingredients are unfortunately all too common in traditional kids cereals and can cause damaging health effects to the immune, reproductive, and nervous system and increase cancer risk. These are the biggest offenders in traditional kids cereals that you need to be aware of (and of course, steer clear of whenever possible).

Don’t be fooled by the food industry into thinking that this highly-processed, over-packaged food product is the answer to a healthy breakfast.

Sugar is More Addictive Than Cocaine! And diabetes affects 1 in 3 American adults.Yet Americans eat about 150 pounds of sugar per person annually.  Alcohol is processed sugar and in some ways sugar is as bad as alcohol.

Our bodies need REAL food to start the day.
